KEDO celebrates 8th foundation day

Kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO) celebrated its 8th Foundation Day at Ima Keithel here on Monday during which Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam appealed to all to imbibe work culture for a better Manipur.
KEDO was formed on April 20, 2007 by a group of hardworking indigenous people of the State with an objective to mitigate the problem of unemployed educated youths of the State.
The work force aims to imbibe work culture.
Deputy CM Gaikhangam, MLA and PDA Chairman T Mangibabu, IMC Chairperson A Nimai Sharma, Poknapham editor A Robindro Sharma and Sangai Express editor Khogendra Khomdram were present at the occasion.
Many women vendors of Ima Keithel also attended the function.

Deputy CM lauded the 'trendsetting' efforts of KEDO volunteers in bringing a new wave of employment opportunities to the educated youths.
He added that such a philosophy had been adopted by the developed European and American countries long time back.
He saluted such types of work force and termed them as the noblest and most respectable section of the society.
He also expressed his happiness in learning that KEDO has made so many achievements in its short journey and also in seeing the love that the women vendors have shown to the members of the organisation as their own children.
PDA Chairman Mangibabu also appreciated the hardworking spirit of the KEDO members and appealed all to respect this labour force.
He added that such revolution in the labour work sector of Manipur will help in taking petty labour jobs from outsiders.
He also announced that PWD will soon start repairing the present Ima Keithel to maintain it well and to make it more convenient to the women vendors.
IMC Chairperson Nimai Sharma also thanked KEDO for lending help in activities of the council.
As a part of the function, women vendors of the three Ima Keithels felicitated KEDO President Soibam Maniton, who was recently honoured with an award at the International Conference on Dynamics of Banana held at Jagao, Maharashtra.
On the occasion, the women vendors also honoured KEDO members M Tiken, Y Ranbir and K Tolenkhomba for their outstanding performances.
