National Indigenous Seed Festival concludes

A valedictory function of 3 day National Indigenous Seed Festival 2019, organised by All Manipur trained Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Promoters Consortium with technical support from Bharat Beej Swaraj Manch (India Seed Sovereignty Alliance), was held today at the main auditorium of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroishemba.
As part of the programme, farmers from both Manipur and outside were provided certificates by the dignitaries.
At the event, Inner Manipur MP Dr RK Ranjan, who attended the programme as chief guest, urged all concerned to design a method to preserve native seeds effectively as such seeds are at risk of extinction due to diminishing valley areas.
The function was also attended by retd IAS Dr RK Nimai Simai Singh, CAU, VC, Prof M Premjit Singh and G Krishna Prasad of Bharat Beej Swaraj Manch as the presidium members.
