There are incidents of children being recruited to take part in conflict, women being raped by State and non State actors and many educational institutions being converted into camps for armed forces.
These are open violation of the Geneva Convention 1949 .
Violating the Geneva Convention is akin to a war crime as well as a crime against human rights, he said adding that he believes that the United Nations will sit up, take notice and implement necessary actions against the violators.
Nabakishore continued that various conventions were held in the past and ultimately, the Geneva Convention 1949 was adopted by the world to limit the damages during times of conflict and war between two sides.
The Geneva Convention has four limits which include to refrain from including or affecting women and children in war or conflict, showing restraint and giving proper treatment to injured people during conflict, refraining from extreme treatment against war prisoners and to refrain from attacking hospitals, schools, colleges etc.
During the event, experts and participants discussed on the law and order situation of the State, the cases of women raped by State and non State actors and extra judicial killings cases which are yet to get any justice etc.
High Court advocates Rabi Khan, Laimayum Sevananda and LMS Law College Associate Prof N Pramod were also present as well.
