Assam Rifles organises awareness programmes

Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised community service and awareness drive at Phaipijang village Baptist Church in Imphal East district today.
The event commenced with community service cum interaction with the locals and the soldiers paid their homage as per the customs and traditions of the village, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
An awareness lecture was also organised for the locals with an aim to educate them about the importance of hygiene, sanitation and various precautions to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 along with distribution of masks and hand sanitizers and they were also informed about the vaccination drive policy adopted by the State Government, added the statement.
In another instance, troops of Assam Rifles conducted awareness lectures on various ongoing Government welfare schemes and their benefits at Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Pherzawl districts today.
The lecture was conducted with the aim to educate the local populace and generate awareness about various benefits and ongoing schemes launched by the State and the Central Government and was attended by 157 villagers including the village headmen, youth club members and Meira Paibis, added the statement.
