CCpur, February 06 2020:
The district hospital Churachandpur has identified and set aside an isolation ward as it readies to take patients of novel coronavirus, if there happens to be any in the district, reports our correspondent.
Briefing media persons yesterday on the preparedness and highlighting the nature and symptoms of the novel virus, the health authorities said there is no need to panic for now but asked citizens to closely monitor those coming from outside the State.
They also claimed that several people in Tuibong and Hmar Veng who came from the United State have been screened by local health officials.
Similarly, the IDSP also conducted screening on two people as part of their community screening programme.
Dr Vumchinpau, CMO Churachandpur; Dr Lalzuitluangi Hauzel, Superintendent District Hospital Churachandpur; Dr Lalbiakdiki; Dr Nirmala and Dr Ngahneikim Haokip are among those to address the media during the event.
