One killed in wall collapse at Tera bazar

Imphal, August 03 2011:
One person died when a wall of the oil depot at Tera Bazar Yangdobi Leirak collapsed early this morning around 7 am.
Just after the incident angry locals stormed the oil depot and destroyed some equipments of the depot.
Timely intervention by the police prevented the burning down of the oil depot.The victim was identified as Maimom Nabachandra(56) of Tera Wangthoibi Leirak son of S Jugin.
Nabachandra was an SO at Manipur Development Society.
The oil depot was owned by one P Kuber of Sagolband Salam Leikai.
The angry locals tried to block the national way but was prevented by the police.
Later staged a dharna on the roadside.
The victim is at the RIMS morgue.
A body formed in connection with the incident demanded an immediate shifting of the oil depot from the area.
