ATSUM decries bomb blast

Decrying the bomb blast at Sangakpham in which five civilians including two young school going children were killed while eight others were injured, All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has stated that this kind of inhuman act in public places is highly condemnable.
In a statement issued by its speaker Emboi Serto, ATSUM demanded that the organisation concerned should apologise to the people and not repeat such violent acts in future.
The peaceful co-existence of the people should also not be disturbed, the ATSUM observed, while appealing to the people to maintain calm and not to communalise the incident In the same statement, ATSUM has also reiterated that the 24-hour hill district total bandh called with effect from midnight today will continue and appealed to all to bear with the inconveniences which may arise out of the bandh.
The public are also advice to strictly abide by the bandh and defaulter themselves should be held responsible for any eventuality, ATSUM said, while informing that emergency services, fire brigade and water supply would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
