Lingmai bodies laud Assam Rifles

Liangmai Naga Council, Eastern Zone (LNC-EZ), Eastern Liangmai Chief Chairman Association (ELCCA) and Ahangruak Chief Chairman Association (ACCA) extended their gratitude to 44 Assam Rifles of IGAR (East) for the humanitarian assistance provided during the ongoing pandemic.
The Liangmai organisations also said that the Banglabung post of 44 AR has also been maintaining the law and order situation along the IT Road while, at the same time, carrying out mobile Covid vaccination cum medical camps in the IT Road area reaching out to far flung villages.
The Liangmai bodies further said that the mobile vaccination drive brought the vaccine near to home for many beneficiaries who don't have any means to move to vaccination centres.
"The Covid awareness cum sanitisation drives in the area by the Assam Rifles have helped the locals in fighting the unseen enemy in these testing times.
The residents have been immensely benefitting from the health care services extended by the Assam Rifles", the Liangmai bodies added.
The Liangmai organisations then said that the second wave of "global pandemic" has affected residents of the IT Road area.
They further said that school going children in the area are worst affected.
"School life is not all about academics, games, friends and fun.
In fact, it is also about learning to interact with other people, sharing, carrying and respecting each other's culture and religion," the Liangmai organisations said.
Liangmai organisations then appreciated the developmental works initiated by the Assam Rifles unit.
"Repairing educational institutions by the 44 Assam Rifles in the area will not only help the students but also the parents in realising their dreams," they also said.
"The renovation works of government senior secondary school at Gelnel is nearing completion and has become a role model school in the area.
We request the unit to extend such initiatives to other schools in the area too.
The students of the area are looking forward to the unit to help them also in repairing their cradle of learning.
These acts of yours shall bring a constructive change in our society in the area," the Liangmai organisations added.
LNC-EZ, ELCCA and ACCA also lauded the 44 Assam Rifles for renovating the women society office in Dikiuram which is one of the Liangmai villages.
"Their efforts shall help the dream of women empowerment in the area.
The other social works initiated by the unit such as water supply scheme for the residents, construction of sports grounds for the youth, tree plantation, youth career counselling to join Army/ Assam Rifles have made them dear to the local public as true friends of North East people," the organisations said.
"On behalf of the community of the area we thank the 44 Assam Rifles to help us during these testing times of the pandemic and hope that the unit shall take up more such initiatives in the near future to uplift the lives of the people of the area," they added.
