761 trucks cross Noney towards Jiri

Imphal, December 05 2016:
Even as 761 trucks including oil tankers, LPG bullet tankers have crossed Noney police station at around 3 pm today Chief Minister O Ibobi convened a meeting of the combined headquarters this afternoon.
The meeting attended by high ranking officials of army, police, Assam Rifles, CRPF and BSF deliberated on escorting trucks and tankers stranded at Mao and Jiribam.
Meanwhile, a security team left Imphal today to escort back loaded trucks stranded at Jiribam.
Notably, assembly of more than five persons have been prohibited under CrPC Section 144 along Imphal-Jiribam highway in Tamenglong district.
The meeting held today decided to escort back trucks and tankers stranded at Mao up to Imphal as soon as possible.
As for Imphal-Jiribam highway, security escort teams have been constituted with IG (Zone-II) as commander.
Around 300 police personnel led by Lalchui Kipgen, DIG Range-4 and Tamenglong SP have been deployed for duty at Noney area.
In the meantime, 761 trucks including oil tankers, LPG bullet tankers have crossed Noney police station at around 3 pm today.
No untoward incident has been reported till the time of filing this report.
A team of fire fighters of Manipur Fire Service has also been put on standby to handle any emergency.
