Imphal, December 05 2016:
Negating the Manipuri Students Federation's assertion regarding the unwanted incident on the night of December 2 at Government Polytechnic Boys' Hostel, the hostellers of the institute have barred MSF from entering the premises of the institute.
In a statement, the hostellers charged MSF volunteers of entering the hostel by identifying themselves as parents of a student who was accused of staeling a mobile phone handset.
The MSF volunteers then sided with the accused and behaved aggressively with the other students, charged the hostellers.
The statement continued that a heated argument ensued as the MSF volunteers tried to forcibly take a hosteller to its office at midnight.
MSF volunteers of around 30 to 40 came again to the hostel the next day and vandalised the properties and assaulted some students, it said.
Urging the college authorities and the authorities concerned to investigate the matter, the hostellers also threatened of launching intense form of agitations if justice is not delivered at the earliest.
