Two killed in gunfight, villagers flee

At least two cadres of Naga Unification have been killed in a gun battle between NSCN-K and Naga Unification which took place at Hatibung village in Nagaland's Peren district today.
Report reaching here says that the gun battle which began at around 3 am today lasted for about 4/5 hours.
The villagers living nearby fled from their village in fear.
The NSCN-K cadres have also recovered the arms of the deceased cadres of the Naga Unification.
The village was previously dominated by the NSCN-IM but later under the NSCN-K.The gun battle occurred as the Naga Unification tried to get a hold of Hitibung village and began to build their camps in the area.
The security forces have landed at the area and search operation is being carried out.
No report of any cadre of the two outfits involved in the gun battle being detained have been received.
