Orientation programme for farmers held

Under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
Department of Agriculture organised an orientation programme on Soil Testing for Soil Health Card for farmers at the training hall of Directorate of Agriculture Sanjenthong today.
Additional Chief Secretary (Agri) Dr Suhel Akhtar who graced the programme as chief guest said that as per the instruction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, soil testing in paddy fields and farmlands in different parts of the country has been going with the objective of producing abundant agricultural products.
He appealed to the farmers to support the initiative and possess soil health card for carrying out soil testing in their paddy fields and farmlands.
Saying that soil testing laboratory had already been opened in Porompat, Bishnupur and Imphal West, he appealed to the farmers to make best use of the laboratory.

Ph Rajendra Singh explained the farmers about the latest equipment in farming and the benefits of possessing soil health card.
