Tengnoupal, September 29 2017:
The Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh has sought the attention of the State Government to intervene on the matter regarding the cremation of one Jangthang Haokip of N Bolijang village by Tamu police station, without informing the authority concerned.
A press release issued by general secretary of HTC stated that Jangthang went missing from Moreh town on September 26 .
Later the council received news that Jangthang's body was recovered by Tamu police from Menar river bank and was taken to Tamu hospital for post mortem, the statement said.
The council was shocked when the body was cremated by Tamu police without the knowledge of the family or informing the Moreh police station, it added.
"It would be best for all if the State Government urge the Myanmar Government not to repeat such act again", the statement asserted.
