After beauty, martial artist adorns Kpi's Haijang village

The beauty of Haijang girls had once made the village known to the world when Lina Chongloi was crowned the coveted Miss Bharat in 2013 after Boishi Chongloi of the same village seized the crown of Miss Barak and Miss Chonghang on several occasions.
Since then, the beauty of Haijang village girls become the talk of the town and everyone is charmed by the beauty of Haijang girls.
Again, the village is reckoned with great awe as another girl.

after achieving various medals in the State, won a Gold medal in the 10th Open National Taekwondo Championship, 2017 (52 kg Category) in Jammu & Kashmir recently.
The prestigious event at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Stadium.
Srinagar was hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association where Manipur clinched the overall champions trophy in the mega Taekwondo event organized for the first time in the history of J&K that culminated on September 19 .
Born on February 2.1997, Hathoikim Chongloi is the third child of Lamkhohao Chongloi and Phalkholhing Chongloi of Haijang village.
She got Black Belt in Taekwondo under Sports Authority of India (SAI) in 2013.She completed her graduation in Science this year from Biramangol Col lege.

Martial arts is not an influential game among the youths of Kangpokpi district and the hill people of Manipur as a whole and no one believes that a girl from a remote village will become an icon and shine in such an un-influential sports among the hill people.
But, Hathoikim Chongloi.
who is fondly addressed as Nonoh in her village, perfectly proves that Taekwondo is not only the an of self defence but a game where one could find fame and popularity if determinedly pursued.
Hathoikim enrolled herself at National Sports Academy LNSAJ, Khuman Lampak from Class VI till completion of her higher secondary education as well as her martial arts education.

Hathoikim Chongloi has won more than 15 medals including 3 gold.
5 silver and 7 bronze medals in various Taekwondo championships in State and National levels since 2010 .
She achieved her first Gold medal at the State Level Taekwondo Championship in 2011 followed by the second Gold medal in same championship in 2013 and the third Gold medal which is also her first National level gold medal at the 10th Open National Taekwondo Championship, 2017 (52 Kg) category in Jammu & Kashmir.
Despite her huge achievements in the State and National level, Hathoikim Chongloi remained the 'Unsung Hero' from a remote hill district of the State and her struggles and tireless efforts in bringing laurels to the State remain unrecognized till today.
People of Kangpokpi district from all walks of life decided to accord her a warm welcome tomorrow when she returned to her home State for the first time after achieving the two medals for her state in the 10th National Open Taekwondo Championship, Jammu & Kashmir.
A warm reception will be organized at Tulihal Airport under the aegis of Kuki Students' Organization.
Sadar Hills and another grand reception at Kangpokpi DHQs by Kangpokpi Town Committee, KWWO and KYU after which a felicitation program will be held at her home village Haijang in the afternoon.
