National child health programme reaches Ukhrul district

The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK, National Child Health Programme) started by UPA leader Sonia Gandhi in 2013 in Thane, Maharashtra has also been started in Ukhrul District too.
The programme was opened in the district by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Thoubal, Dr S Saratkumar Singh today at CMO office complex, Thoubal Wangmataba.
On the opening day of the programme, District Mobile Medical Teams were sent to three different areas of the district.
The teams performed medical checkups of students of the schools located in those areas.
Inspired by the one liner, 'The prospect of a nation is related to the good health of young generation', the CMO , Dr S Saratkumar Singh stated that the main objective of starting the programme was to detect early stage diseases among children in the age group of zero to 18 which will be then treated and initiate a major step towards building a healthy generation.
The opening function of the RBSK was attended by District Programme Manager of NRHM and District Health Society Thoubal, H Rishikesh Sharma; District Programme Officer of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Thoubal, P Sukumar Singh; Nodal Officer of Adolescence and Health Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul Singh and other staff of the related health departments.
While speaking at the function, Nodal Officer, Dr Nokul requested all the people of Thoubal District to help and support the health programme.
