UCM reaches out

The United Committee Manipur (UCM) organised a free medical camp at Khangshillung Govt Higher Secondary School, Khoupum Tampak yesterday.
The UCM team which included its president Elangbam Johnson, Sunil Karam, BM Yaima Shah, RK Mangisana, N Jiban, Leishemba Lamabam, Rabi Thiyam and H Kumar also handed over an ultrasound machine to the local PHC.
The medical camp was held with four doctors from Imphal , two doctors of Khoupum Tampak PHC and five nurses.
Elangbam Johnson said that the medical camp was organised in the interest of the people of Khoupum Tampak and surrounding areas.
He said that health care service is a basic necessity of mankind.
UCM has been planning to organise such medical camps in other remote areas of the State, he added.
One 65 year old Marilung said that the medical camp was quite beneficial to the villagers.
She added that such humanitarian service would certainly strengthen inter-community relations.
