Imphal, October 15 2016:
The All Manipur Unemployed Veterinary Doctors’ Association (AMUVDA) has appealed to the State Government to conduct the recruitment of Veterinary Officers (VOs) through MPSC .
In a statement, the association said that the State Government as per its cabinet decision taken on July 8 approved the filling up of vacant posts in the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services including 59 VOs posts through direct recruitment.
The Cabinet approval came after a ban of 18 years.
AMUVDA further stated that it has repeatedly urged the Government to conduct the recruitment of VOs through MPSC and allow all the qualified veterinary doctors to appear for the exam .
The Manipur High Court had also directed the State Government on September 16 last year to consider the case of AMUVDA within a period of 1 month by issuing an appropriate order when the association approached the Court.
It also asked the government not to re-engage or appoint the contract VOs whose services had been terminated on March 1, 2003 reasoning that this will deprive all the unemployed qualified veterinary doctors.
The association said that they will further pursue contempt proceeding which is said to be pending in the Court, if the Government does not heed their say.
