Imphal, October 15 2016:
Even though an opinion poll reportedly conducted by India Today predicted that BJP may win 31 to 35 seats in the State Assembly election, BJP Manipur Pradesh is expecting 40 seats.
Speaking to mediapersons at his Babupara office today, BJP State election management committee convenor Th Chaoba said that BJP may win 31 to 35 seats in the 60-member Manipur Legislative Assembly according to an opinion poll conducted by India Today.
The opinion poll says that Congress may win 19 to 24 seats, NPF three to five seats and others two to four seats.
However, according to the party’s own calculation, BJP may win 40 seats and Congress would secure less than 10 seats.
In the last Assembly election of Haryana, BJP emerged as the single largest party while Congress went down to fourth position.
Congress went down to third position in Rajasthan too.

BJP emerged victorious in Assam too and the party went on to form the Government in the neighbouring State while the number of Congress MLAs declined from three digits to two digits.
Congress party would be defeated in Manipur because of two issues; sports university and territorial integrity.
People are fed up of Congress party’s empty rhetoric about the territorial integrity of Manipur.
It was the Congress Government which gifted Manipur’s Kabow Valley to Myanmar .
Again, it was Congress party which signed a document endorsing Naga integration campaign.
BJP has all the evidence of these misadventures committed by Congress party.
Talking about the State’s territorial integrity by Congress party’s sounds like self-criticism, Chaoba said.
Notably, three MLAs of Congress party resigned from the party’s primary membership recently while four MLAs of Trinamool Congress joined Congress.
On the other hand, exulting over the India Today-Axis opinion poll on Manipur, the State BJP today said that the opinion poll has rightly said that the BJP is set to win anywhere between 31 and 35 seats in the next Assembly election, scheduled to be held in the early part of next year.
In a statement issued to the press today, the State BJP said when the actual time of reckoning comes, there is every possibility of the BJP getting more than what has been laid down in the said opinion poll and added that the party is poised to sweep the Assembly election with the help and co-operation of the people.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, India has today gone from the stage of a developing country to a developed country and this can be attributed to the effective administration of the BJP led Government, said the statement.
After the BJP led Government assumed office at Delhi, the lot of every section of the people has improved dramatically, said the statement and added that under the Congress Government in Manipur not all the benefits have reached the people.
This is due to wrong administration of the incumbent State Government, said the statement.
The benefits however will reach all the section of the people once the BJP comes to power after the Assembly election next year, the State BJP predicted.
