AITUC meeting held

Imphal, July 12 2016:
A meeting of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) Manipur
State Committee was held on July 9 and passed a resolution to hold
a general body meeting of all the unions/organisations affiliated to
AITUC within July or August to discuss different issues pertain-
ing to the anti-labourer policies of the Government and also
strengthen the trade unions.
The meeting also passed a resolution to make the one-day
nationwide strike on September 2 to protest against Govern-
ment's unilateral labour reforms and "anti-workers" policies a
successful one.
The meeting expressed solidarity with the strike call given
by All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and All
India Bank Officers Associates (AIBOA) on July 12 and 13
to protest against the merger of the five associate banks of
State Bank of India (SBI) with SBI and privatisation of IDBI
Bank.
It also warned of launching intense form of agitation if the
National Food Security Act (NFSA) is not implemented in a
proper manner and ensure that the right beneficiaries are
reached, informed a statement issued by the secretary of
AITUC, Manipur.
