More demand 7th Pay at Thoubal, CCpur

Demanding immediate implementation of 7th Pay for the teachers, Council Of Teachers' Association (COTA) staged a sit-in protest for the third time in front of ZEO Zone -III office, Thoubal, today and resolved to continue their demonstration until the demand is fulfilled.
COTA is an apex body of several teacher's organisation namely All Manipur Government Lecturer Welfare Association (AMGLWA); All Manipur Promotee Government Higher Secondary Lecturer Welfare Association (AMPGHSLWA); All Manipur Graduate Teachers' Welfare Association (AMGTA); All Manipur Secondary School Teachers' Association (AMSSTA) and All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association (AMESTA) .
Speaking to media persons, COTA convenor, Ch Shantakumar Singh stated that though 7th Pay or similar pay structure for the teachers has already been introduced in other North East States, it is yet to be implemented in the State.
Questioning the rationale behind not implementing the 7th pay for the State's teachers till date when the price of essential commodities are soaring high, he cautioned that different agitation will be launched if the State Government still refuse to implement the 7th Pay structure.
Similar protest demonstration will be staged in other for Teacher", "We Care for Education", "No Rectification No Rest" and "We Demand Rectification of ROP" were displayed during the demonstration.
As part of Council of Teachers Association, Manipur (COTA's) agitation demanding the rectification of ROP - 2019, employees of the State Education Department from Churachandpur and Pherzawl Districts also staged a sit-in protest at ZEO Office Churachandpur, today.
The employees, mostly teachers urged the Government to rectify anomalies in the Revision of the Pay.
The protesters even threatened to boycott the upcoming Class X and XII examinations if their demand is not met.
