Weekly bilingual newspaper launched

With an aim to provide people of Kangpokpi District with the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their lives, communities, societies and their Government, a weekly bilingual newspaper was launched successfully today at Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
Executive Officer (Town), Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi, Paominthang Doungel launched the weekly newspaper which is christened as "ZALAILENG", an honest Voice of Kangguian at Kangpokpi Town Committee office in the presence of president Kuki Inpi Manipur, Lunpi S Thangjom and president Thadou Inpi Kangpokpi District, Lalkhosei Lhouvum.
Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship Chairman, K Hangshing attended the event as Dedicating and Blessing Minister while Upa Lom Kangpokpi (Senior Citizen), Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills, Thadou Women Association Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organizations, Kangpokpi Youth Union and well-wishers also attended the launching ceremony.
While motivating the managing board and editorial team after launching the newspaper, the EO (Town) SHADC Kangpokpi, Paominthang Doungel conveyed his keenness to witness changes in the approach and ways of living of the people of Kangpokpi District through constructive information from the newspaper.
He also stressed on the importance of newspaper and its vital roles in the society while recalling the establishment of various weeklies and journal at Kangpokpi and the grievances faced by the staffs and editorial team in the past.
K Hangshing, Chairman Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship also wished all those involved in the weekly newspaper a good health, sound mind and wisdom in bringing out one of the most important needs of the people.
All the presidents of Kuki Inpi Manipur, Upa Lom leaders, Thadou Inpi Kangpokpi District, KWU, KWWO, KYU and few well-wishers also spoke on the occasion.
The weekly newspaper will be managed by a board of Managing Committee and will be edited by Kaybie Chongloi.
The regular column of the newspaper shall consists of Know your Kangguian, Know your Educational Institutions, Know your leaders (irrespective of caste, creed and community), local news and events, student's corner, quiz, important contact nos in Kpi DHQs, etc.
