No opposition in state because of SPF's sincerity: Gaikhangam

Terming the current ruling period of SPF in the state as "golden period" of the Congress, president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Congress, Gaikhangam said that the functioning of the SPF government is so smooth that there left no space for opposition to criticize.
Speaking at the party sponsored flagship training programme of the Congress workers at Kumbi Bazar in Bishnupur district, the MPCC chief said that in the state oppositions are almost like nonexistence as SPF government has left no flaw in its functioning and in implementing welfare works for the people.
He advised Congress workers to spread awareness on the flagship programme taken up in the state under the initiative of the Congress led UPA government at the Centre to the people so that the benefits of the programmes could be reached directly to them.
About the holding of series of district and block level training on flagship programmes for the party workers, the president said that reports to be submitted by the monitoring committees constituted at district and block level of the party to overlook the implementation of the flagship programmes are to be furnished at the party high command at the Centre.
He also sought the cooperation of the people in taking up various developmental and welfare schemes of the SPF government under the leadership of the chief minister O Ibobi Singh so that the development pace of the state could be sped up.
Without people's support it will not be possible to accelerate implementation process of the schemes and projects in both hills and valley areas.
Development works are able to take up smoothly in the state because of stable government being kept by the SPF government he said stressing the need for keeping a stable government for development to take place.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, who graced the opening function of the training programme, said that most of the flagship programmes presently are given emphasis to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) people.
State governments are responsible for the implementation of the flagship programme sponsored by the Central government.
In his speech as guest of honour, deputy chairman of State Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam criticised the CPI who had said that the party is a partner of Congress in SPF government for not taking benefit and said to withdraw from the partnership if it was of no use for
the party (CPI) .
Social Welfare minister, N Loken, MLAs, K Govindas, M Prithivraj and T Mangibabu, former minister L Radhakishore, S Bira were also attended at the function.
