Singju festival from Jan 13 to 22

The 4th Singju festival will be organised from January 13 to 22 at Sangaithel Park, Imphal West said the festival organisers today.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Rakesh Naorem, convenor of Singju Festival Committee of the Singju Yokhatpa Lup said that the festival this year will be organised in association with Sangaithel Youth Club and Sangaithel Meira Paibi.
The festival will be celebrated under the theme "Preservation and Protection of the Indigenous Food of Manipur:.
Around 150 stalls showcasing various crafts and varieties of singju will be installed to attract visitors, he said.
Events such as folk song, dance, Thang-Ta cultural show, narrative art, indigenous sports, special Pena fusion, classical dance, cultural items of different communities, symposium on medicinal plants of Manipur, Nokphade, mega blood donation camp, free medical camp, legal awareness programmes, tree plantations, meet the stars and personalities etc will mark the 10 days long festival, he said.
Spot painting competition, Speech competition, dance competition and talent hunts programmes will also be organised, he added.
Delegates from outside the State will visit the festival.
The stalls will open from 11 am to 8 pm during the festival days Rakesh said.
