Debashish's debut novel launched

Debashish Irengbam's long cherished dream of becoming a full fledged writer was accomplished when his first novel titled Me, Mia, Multiple was launched on July 1 last.
The first novel of Debashish 'Me, Mia, Multiple,' was launched at Mumbai.
The rights of the novel have been acquired by Harper Collins, India.
After the launch of his novel, Debashish Irengbam, son of Col Irengbam Debendra Singh and Basanti Devi of Lamdeng Khunou, Irengbam Colony, is writing his first full-length feature film.
Debashish studied in St Paul's School at Kota and was undergoing coaching classes for IIT exams.
Having completed Class XII, he realized that Science is not his forte and his creative instinct forced him to divert from the world of Science to Literature contrary to the objective of his younger brother who is an Army officer now.
He completed his post-graduate degree in English Literature from Delhi University in 2009 .

He wrote and co-directed Rasiya, a three-minute fictional narrative of a sex-worker's life which was screened at Cinemela in September 2009 during the JNU film festival, and at the India International Youth Film Festival (IIYFF) in February 2010 at New Delhi.
He wrote and directed Ranjan's Workout, an ironic film on the parallels between the routines of a child-servant and his employer's son which was screened at the KMC Student Film Festival in March 2009.The same was selected as Feature Short of the Week by the online short films portal, www.shortz.in.
It was also selected as Short Film of the Day by www.digifilm.com.
Debashish also wrote and directed My Funky Date, a satirical short film on the cultural stereotypes surrounding North Eastern youth.
The short film was screened at two national films festivals, The Butterfly Project Film Series (Nov 2008), and Filmbooth Film Fest (Dec 2008).The film was awarded second best film at the Gargi Inter-College Student Film Competition, Delhi University in November 2008 .
He completed a three-month filmmaking workshop for beginners, IMPULSE (Mid-May to Mid-July, 2009) which included a basic introduction to shot composition, editing, and screenplay writing.
Debashish completed post-graduate certificate course in Feature Film Screenplay Writing (2009-10) from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
After having completed the FTII training he shifted to Mumbai in 2010 and worked for various projects including a Script Consultant with iDream Productions Pvt Ltd for a period of 8 months from Dec 2010 � July 2011 .
He also worked in the Creative Department of UTV Motion Pictures from Feb 2011 to March 2012 .
Debashish had also worked as Story/ Screenplay Writer for upcoming projects with Kireet Khurana and also worked as the Creative Head, Climb Media (India) Pvt Ltd from March 2011 to Aug 2012 .
Presently the young writer is working as a Story-Screenplay-Dialogue Writer for Adaalat, a mystery/courtroom drama for Sony produced by Contiloe Pictures.
