Swachh Bharat Yatra cyclists arrive at Jiribam

Jiribam, October 26 2018:
With the motive to spread message of "Eat Right India", Cyclists who had come across from six different States of India as part of Swachh Bharat Yatra on the occasion of the 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, has arrived at Jiribam District.
The District Administration of Jiribam along with many officials accorded warm welcome of the cyclists which was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam District Salam Peter, Superintendent of Police, Jiribam District Mubi Moirangthem, Chairperson of Jiribam Municipal Council S Shanti Devi as well as other officials of Food Safety Department of Manipur.
Later, an awareness rally was flagged off by S Shanti Devi, Chairperson, Jiribam Municipal Council from RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Babupara, Jiribam.
The rally witnessed mass participation from among the local citizens, the media and the volunteers which marched from RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya Campus to Jiribam Ima market and made a strong pitch for promoting right eating habits while pointing to the alarming increase of food related lifestyle diseases.
An awareness programme on food safety, food adulteration and healthy food was also carried out by the volunteers of swachh Bharat Yatra at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam Govt Hr Sec School and Ima market, Jiribam.
Speaking to media person, M Dinesh Singh of Food Safety officer, Manipur said in connection of the 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Swachh Bharat Yatra was started to propagate the message "Eat Right India" .
