Imphal, May 24 2014 :
Along with reaffirming its decision to provide medicines at discount rate to active members of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) who are in need of medical treatment, JN Hospital Pharmacy Association today extended financial assistance to a journalist currently undergoing treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) .
speaking to newspersons after handing over certain amount to family members of the ailing scribe Sagolsem amendra, who is sub-editor of The Sangai Express (English edition), Association finance secretary David Singh said its decision to provide requisite medicines to the journalist community will continue in the future.
Noting that treatment of Amendra, presently admitted to Medicine Ward of the Hospital, needs substantial spending, the secretary said meagre amount extended to the ailing journalist is a humble gesture from the Association and in recognition of the challenging profession of journalism.
On the otherhand, David on behalf of the JN Hospital Pharmacy Association, fervently appealed to all concerned to create a conducive environment and enable the medical stores serve the general public without any fear or inhibition.
He also lamented that inspite of the Association members ensuring round the clock service to the needy patients certain elements continue to pose threat to the pharmaceutical stores in and around JNIMS Hospital.
