Kanggui, August 19 2013:
The Students' Union of Presidency College, Motbung is likely to close up the College from tomorrow to lodge their protest against the non-payment of Scholarship to more than 200 students of the College and the horrendous attitude of the TD Department.
The Students Union's extreme step to close up the College came after a joint meeting with the Kukis Students' Organization, Sadar Hills and TSA, Sadar Hills held today afternoon at the Students Union room inside the College Campus along with those students who do get ST Scholarship 2012-13 .
The Union Secretary Nemneithem Kipgen while speaking to this correspondent after the joint meeting said that, there are around 200 students alone from the College who do not receive the said Scholarship.
"In this regard we approached the concern authority but instead of giving the appropriate and reasonable reasons and materializing the matter, the official concerned ignore our humble approach and talk in an uncivilized manner which deeply irritated us," said Nemneithem Kipgen while adding that the concerned authority horrific attitude toward the college in general and the Students Union particular hurt their sentiment severely.
She also warned to intensify its strike if the the concerned authority gives no positive response immediately.
She also appeals to all students of the College in particular and parents and guardians, well wishers to cooperate with the Students Union.
