AZSU to ban construction companies

All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU) has decided to ban the construction companies engaged in the Jiribam-Tupul railway line from executing their works after five days.
According to a AZSU press release, it has repeatedly requested the companies to maintain quality in the construction works, but failing to comply with its request, AZSU and Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM) have taken a drastic decision to ban Simplex Infrastructures Limited, Onycon Engineers, Private Limited, ECI Engineering & Construction Limited, Bharti Infrastructures Projects Limited, Sushee Infrastructures, Private Limited, Apex Construction and SK Engineering & Construction India, Limited from their works after five days from now and if any untoward incident happens the Union should not be held responsible.
The All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) in collaboration with the State unit Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) conducted independent inspections at the work sites of the Jiribam-Tupul railway in the month of December, 2014.Bridges, tunnels and open space rail tracts were inspected during the construction in progress.
"On this matter the AZSU has submitted memos to the PMO and the Ministry of Railways, Government of India on March 2, 2015 for the urgent intervention and Vigilance/National Investigation Agency Department for conducting independent inspection on regular basis," it added.
AZSU said it will not leave any stone unturned to watch over the progress of the works so as to ensure safety of the passengers along the Jiribam-Tupul rail line in future.
