Ibomcha elected NCP Manipur unit President

Notwithstanding earlier Court prohibition, a meeting of the NCP Manipur unit ad-hoc committee was held today at the residence of its convenor L Ibomcha.
The meeting elected L Ibomcha as president of the committee.
Meanwhile, NCP has filed a petition at the Court of District Judge, Manipur West seeking annulment of earlier order issued by the Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Thoubal which invalidated the order issued by NCP general secretary TP Peethambaram Master on June 22. The particular order declared that NCP president Sharad Pawar has appointed L Ibomcha convenor of the NCP Manipur unit ad-hoc committee.
The first meeting of the ad-hoc committee held today was presided by former Minister N Biren who is also vice president of the party.
The meeting was attended by 11 candidates who contested in the Manipur Legislative elections on NCP tickets and a number of NCP workers.
After deliberating on the current position of the party and the unfolding political scenario, the meeting unanimously elected L Ibomcha as president of the NCP State unit ad-hoc committee.
Aleng Shimray and N Biren were elected as vice presidents and N Kapur who contested the last Assembly elections in Heingang AC was elected general secretary of the committee.
The meeting further agreed on sending the resolutions of today's meeting to the party's high command for due approval.
It also authorised committee president Ibomcha to appoint other office bearers of the party in consultation with the high command.
The meeting recommended the high command to appoint L Ibomcha as the chariman of the North East Nationalist Congress Co-ordinating Committee.
Another decision of the meeting was initiating enrolment programme after constituting block level committees in all the districts of Manipur.
