CADA takes its campaign to Mayanglangjing Taning

Imphal, January 25 2016:
As part of its sustained campaign against drugs and alcohol,
Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised a one-
day awareness programme yesterday at Mayanglangjing Taning
Community Hall, Imphal West in collaboration with Nupi Semgat
Lup, Mayanglangjing, Taning Development Club and
Mayanglangjing Development Committee.
Khangembam Tomba, president, Mayanglangjing Develop-
ment Committee, Phijam Mohen, executive member, MDC,
Yumkhaibam Somen, senior citizen and Konthoujam Somen,
president TDC attended the programme as the presidium
members, according to a statement.
Speaking as the resource person, Advocate Yumnam
Ratankumar, president, CADA said that many people have
died due to alcohol related diseases and many women have
been rendered widow in the State.
Many people are ruined by
alcohol.
80 percent of the adult male population is using
alcohol while 10 percent of women used alcohol.
Besides, tobacco consumption rate in the State is high.
And
the death rate due to abuse and addiction of drugs is high, he
said.
Various other speakers of the function also highlighted the
ill-effects of drugs and alcohol while also urging all concerned
to stop sale of drugs and alcohol in the area.
