Referring to Medical Directorate's notification for appointment of Medical Officers in Manipur health Services, All Manipur Students' Guardians Organisation (AMSGO) drew the attention of the authority concerned to defer deadline for submission of application form in order to enable candidates undergoing internship apply for the post.
According to AMSGO secretary (organisation) S sumati directorate of health Services issued notification on March 5, 2014 for appointment of 200 Medical officers through the Manipur Public Service Commission.
Seeking postponement of date for form submission the parents' body formally approached the Director (Health Services) inspite of which the Government fixed April 24 as the cut-off date for submitting application form, said the secretary while pointing out that there are many MBBS-passed candidates currently undergoing internship who too deserve a chance to take relevant test for the post of Medical officer.
Further informing that including the internship period MBBS students would be completing their four and half years course in May this year, Sumati suggested that the last date for form submission be extended to May 31 to facilitate MBBS students appear in the recruitment test.
Noting that Director Health Services in an official communique proposed deferment of the said deadline to May 31, the secretary said denying the MBBS students such a rare chance to apply for the post would amount to deprivation of their rights.
