Imphal, June 14 2017:
The new system ofmaking changes to the retail selling price (RSP) of fuel on daily basis would entail extra expenses to customers.
Indian Oil, Mumbai head office Executive Director has intimated the IOC's Imphal Divisional Retail Sales office that the new system of making changes to the prices of petrol and diesel would be introduced in the State from June 16, informed an official source.
The new system of making changes to RSP would be introduced so that global fuel prices can be taken into account on daily basis while fixing fuel prices in the country.
So far, the Government has been fixing fuel prices but once the new system comes into force, IOC would determine fuel prices.
As RSP would be changed every day, all retail outlets would be asked to display fuel prices of the day so that customers do not encounter undue inconveniences.
Moreover, customers can learn fuel prices by sending SMS to RSP
But sending the particular SMS would cost the sender Rs 1.20 which implies extra expenditure to customers.
One can also know daily fuel prices by downloading mobile app 'Fuel@IOC' or by entering into fuel station locator on the website www.iocl.com.
However, these services too are not toll free which means extra expenditures to customers, informed the source.
