Petrol in stock for 11 days

Imphal, July 10 2017:
Urging the people not to resort to panic buying, CAF and PD Commissioner K Radhakumar Singh has today notified that there is stock of petrol (including dead stock) to cover 11 days, diesel 21 days and SK oil 9 days .
In a statement, the Commissioner said that with NH-2 damaged in the Nagaland sector of the highway, the State Government has notified that vehicles with essential commodities, loaded tankers etc will take the Imphal-Jiribam route (NH-37), where about 300 feet of the road has sunk at Kotlien area .
In a statement, the Commissioner stated that restoration work of the said stretch of road has been taken up on a war footing by the NHIDCL with assistance from the State PWD .
Five including three heavy duty machineries are at the site and light vehicles will be allowed to pass through from the late afternoon of July 11 if the road does not further deteriorate, said the statement .
A road breaking machine of HVS Construction has crossed the dangerous portion and started rock breaking work, which is the main hurdle to the present damage control exercise, added the statement .
Stating that there is no reason for panic buying the Commissioner stated that petrol (with dead stock) will cover 11 days, diesel 21 days and SK oil 9 days .
Meanwhile, it is reported that around 500 loaded trucks are still stranded along Imphal-Jiribam highway.
