The episodes of Cheitheng, will be available on Youtube in the same name every Monday at 9 pm.
Koklaroidaba Daagfam, the first episode, is produced under the sponsorship of TSE publisher Nishikant Singh Sapam.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, Khogendra Khomdram said that Nishikant Singh Sapam has been helping the women victim of violence and crime, through the WAC and the first episode of the web series has been sponsored in continuation of this goodwill.
Khogendra then explained that the publisher himself was to attend the event as the chief guest but he has not been able to due to an illness.
The Editor then, taking the opportunity of the event, urged the CSO/NGO leaders and members to exercise caution while reporting any news which concern crimes against women, and narrated that due to a recent statement issued by the WAC which mentioned the name of a juvenile, the Court has issued a summon.
Assuring that the media fraternity will try its level best to avoid mistakes and errors, he urged the CSOs and NGOs to be detailed and cautious as well.
On the other hand, COCOMI coordinator Sunil Karam said that the tasks performed by WAC are not easy ones and reasoned that in a State which is plagued with armed conflict, CSOs and NGOs also have to be alert at all times.
He then assured that COCOMI will provide every possible support to the initiatives of WAC in the future.
Speaking at the function, MANPAC convenor Yumnamcha Dilipkumar claimed that members of the CSOs, who are acting for the welfare of the people, are often viewed in a different perspective by the authorities.
He then expressed gratitude to WAC for recognising and acknowledging the CSO leaders and members for their contribution to the greater good of the society.
Dilip further explained about the thin line the CSOs walk in the society and added that the CSOs are also sometimes the target of the Government during times of crisis, apart from being trolled by many on social media as well in case of a mistake.
However, despite all the setbacks, the CSOs need to stay on its feet and adhere to its belief and aim and perform its duties with honesty, he added.
MANPAC was established opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (then CAB), he informed clarifying that even to this day, MANPAC is totally against the Act, but it (the association) decided to back off a little as the Central Government decided to implement the ILPS in Manipur in an unprecedented move.
However, despite the so called implementation of the system in Manipur, MANPAC's demand for an efficient and effective guideline for the system, still remains unfulfilled, he lamented.
Condemning the State Government for failing to consult the CSOs in this regard, he claimed that the Government is completely neglecting the sentiments of the CSOs, which stand for the people.
Mocking the issuance of the first ILPS pass to BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav by the Government to show that the system was now in effect in Manipur, the MANPAC convenor concluded that such antics are completely hollow as Ram Madhav is one among those who are normally exempted from the system as per the law.
As a part of the event, simple gifts were presented to members of COCOMI, MANPAC, Kangleipak Tengbang News Group, Anji Group of Finance and Salai Taretki Mapari and Cheitheng artistes by WAC.
