Competition for maximum collection of plastic wastes held at Kakching

Kakching, October 05 2019:
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiative to make India free from single use plastic, Kakching Municipal Council has organized a competition for maximum collection of plastic wastes at Kakching Municipal Council today.

A total of 7 groups took part in the competition.
The group led by P Sanahal, Councillor ward no 4 collected 450.07 Kg of plastic wastes to secure the first position while Chingu Group picked up 418.35 Kg of plastic wastes to settle at second position and Moirangthem Lokendro Memorial Trust, Kakching Wairi ward no 1 collected 372.24 Kg of plastic wastes to finish at third position.
Cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 were distributed to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders respectively.
All the participants were also encouraged with cash prize during the function.
