Imphal, September 04 2019:
The proscribed UNLF has expelled captain Kshetrimayum Laanthaba alias Gourabi from the primary membership of the outfit as well as the MPA for anti-party activities with effect from September 2 .
Announcing this in a statement, the outfit said that Laanthaba has been expelled for his anti-party activities and for refusing to heed the summons served on him and urged the public to inform the outfit if he is found misusing the name of UNLF and MPA.
Laanthaba belongs to the 8th batch and finished his basic military training, said the outfit and added that with due permission he was allowed to enter marital life in 2008 .
Thereafter he snapped all ties and stayed away from all activities of the outfit, added the statement.
Then in September of 2015, he re-approached the outfit and his past misdemeanours were forgiven and he was taken back again, said the statement.
Later he was promoted to the post of captain and even made the secretary of Thoubal district, added the outfit.
However Laanthaba forgot all his duties as a revolutionary cadre and misappropriated a sum of Rs 7 lakh from the amount set aside in the memory of those who had laid down their lives, said the outfit and added that repeated summons went unheeded.
He also did not bother to submit the report of his activities to the party CHQ, it added.
Despite his waywardness and misdemeanour, the central committee of the outfit, under the belief that he could be corrected, summoned him to appear to the CHQ by August 30 .
Laanthaba however failed to appear and stayed away, said the outfit and announced that for his misdemeanour he has been expelled from the outfit.
