791 new positive cases, 14 fatalities reported
State conducts record number of over 7000 tests; daily positivity rate dips

As the state registered a record number of 7689 tests in 24 hours, further decline in the daily positivity rate was witnessed for the fourth straight day on Friday even as government bulletins reported 791 new positive cases and 14 fatalities.
With the addition of the new cases, the caseload has reached 9048 with 4819 patients recuperating in home isolation and the remaining 4229 undergoing treatment in different healthcare facilities including district hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
So far, 25,502 positive cases and 508 fatalities have been reported since the beginning of the current year.
The last seven days witnessed an addition of 5847 new cases and 102 fatalities while 2939 new cases and 56 fatalities have been reported during the current month.
In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 Covid-19 deaths.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (3), Imphal East (8), Bishnupur (1), Thoubal (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
Six of them died at RIMS, three each at JNIMS & Shija Hospitals and two at Raj Medicity.

The cumulative number of deaths is 863.According to official reports, all the 791 new cases (407 male & 384 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (24), JNIMS (42), District Hospitals (467) and other testing centres (258).The positive cases are from Imphal East (167), Imphal West (271), Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (49), Kakching (52), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (89), Chandel (23), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (6), Kangpokpi (24), Kamjong (6), Noney (4) and Jiribam (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
On the other hand, 592 persons were discharged from home isolation, RIMS, JNIMS and other Covid care facilities.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 53,690 (general population - 49,927 and CAPF personnel - 3,763).Number of recovered cases is 43,779 (general population - 40,040 and CAPF personnel - 3,739) and number of active cases is 9,048 (general population - 9,029 and CAPF personnel - 19).The recovery rate is 81.54 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 928 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 410B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and Central Medical Store in the Directorate of Health Services has 650 D type cylinders in stock.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 397D, 54B filled cylinders and the district/sub-division wise distribution is Bishnupur (54D,0B), Chandel (32D,7B), Churachandpur (77D0B), Senapati (37D,0B), Thoubal (62D,22B), Ukhrul (28D,0B), Tamenglong (32D,5B), Jiribam (36D,11B), Moreh (20D,5B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (7D,0B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (4D,3B).As of Thursday, 4,03,677 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 80,645 of them have got the second dose.
Meanwhile, 53 new positive cases were detected in Kakching district on Friday.
One was detected at Ema Hospital, 12 at Jivan Hospital and 40 at government RAT Centre.
One each of them is from Imphal West and Chandel districts while the remaining 51 are residents of Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (19,318), Imphal East (12,486), Thoubal (4005), Churachandpur (3908), Kangpokpi (1496), Tamenglong (1869), Bishnupur (2990), Senapati (1248), Ukhrul (1172), Kakching (2259), Chandel (911), Noney (517), Tengnoupal (530), Jiribam (495), Kamjong (409) and Pherzawl (77) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (322), Imphal East (231), Thoubal (79), Churachandpur (66), Kangpokpi (22), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (54), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (12), Kakching (41), Chandel (13), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 17,303 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 20,585 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,39,618 tests per million population against the national average of 2,56,686 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.61 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 7689 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 10.29 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 7.22 per cent.
