PNOF donates generator to Senapati DH

Poumai Naga Officers' Federation (PNOF) donated 30-KVA generator for the COVID isolation ward of District Hospital, Senapati on Thursday.
PNOF president P Duna Duo handed over the generator to the medical superintendent of hospital in the presence of Senapati additional district magistrate Adahrii Maheo, CMO Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, PNOF executives, doctors and others.
The ADM, in his brief address, expressed gratitude on behalf of the district administration and district health society to PNOF for the generator as power back up for the hospital.
He said that the donation will go a long way in ensuring critical care for patients in the Covid isolation ward of the only district hospital, adding that power back up facility is one of the critical components for emergency care for Covid as well as general patients.
The medical superintendent thanked NOF for their love and concern for the hospital.
President PNOF P Duna Duo, who is also the SDO/ BDO of Songsong, said that they know that the government is doing all it can in the fight against the disease, however it also has its limitations in terms of resources and manpower.
He said PNOF wanted to show support to the government and concern for the people during these unprecedented times to save lives after learning from the district hospital that a generator was urgently required for uninterrupted use of oxygen concentrator and other appliances for Covid-19 patients.
PNOF general secretary D John Sha, who is also the divisional forest officer, Senapati, in his report to the media mentioned that through the various support of PNOF members posted across the country the Federation donated the generator to the Covid isolation ward of the district hospital.
He also informed that the total cost of generator including installation was approximately Rs 5,20,000.Sha further informed that PNOF had also extended help as Covid relief to 521 Poumai individuals stranded outside the state last year.
