Imphal, February 03, 2012:
Even as different political parties of the state claim that many of their candidates will come out successful in the recently held election, the Congress is quite confident that the party will come out with an absolute majority.
An official of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, on condition of anonymity, said that at least 10 candidates will come out successful from the constituencies in the hill areas.
As of the plains, the party is fully confident that not less than 20 Congress candidates will succeed.
Although the actual facts will only be known after the results are out, yet the Congress party has full confidence that if at all 2/3 candidates fail to win, the party will always be the single largest party, he claimed.
He further informed that if the party fails to come out with an absolute majority but comes up as the single largest party, the Congress will form a coalition party with like minded parties and lead the government.
He also clarified that there is no dispute in the party for the leadership.
It will be discussed only after the arrival of the poll results.
