Condemning the State Government's attempt to establish a Kendra Vidyalaya at the Loukol behind Kangla Sangomsang, the locals organised apublic meeting and adopted many resolutions.
It may be mentioned that the district administration issued a notification to measure the land for setting up the said school.
After learning about department's officials coming to demarcate/measure the land, the local clubs and Meira Paibis came out and protested against it.
Meanwhile, a team of Lamlai PS reached the location and tried to control the irate locals.
After arguing for some minutes, the locals dispersed the area after one of the police official informed them that the department officials will not be measuring the land.
Later, the local clubs and Meira paibis held a meeting in which they lauded MLA Sushindro for pressuring the Government not to build the KV school at the proposed site.
The meeting resolved to oppose construction/setting up of any kind of Govt's infrastructure and further decided to stand against the attempt to set up the school.
