Training cum input distribution programme

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ukhrul organised the awareness cum training and input distribution programme on "Promoting improved technology of groundnut production among the tribal farmers of Manipur under TSP", today under the sponsorship of Directorate of Groundnut Research, Junagadh, Gujarat.
In the technical session, S Gunamani Singh, SMS (Plant Breeding), KVK, Imphal West and N Ajitkumar Singh, SMS (Plant Protection) KVK, Ukhrul discussed detail package and practices about the crop, pest and disease management and also emphasised on diversification through groundnut cultivation in hilly areas in respect of climate change of Manipur.
20 farmers participated in the training programme.
Besides, 10 hectares of land at Tanrui, Rumva, Lanlang, Halang and Nungshangkhong village in Ukhrul districts are selected for demonstration sites.
The ICAR provided all critical inputs like seeds, fertilizers, agrilime, pesticides and herbicides for groundnut cultivation in the 10 hectares of farm land.
