Ceasework stir

Imphal, August 19 2013:
Employees of State Family Welfare Department have launched an indefinite ceasework strike demanding clearance of due salary for six months from today.
On the first day of the stir, the employees locked some important office rooms of the Department.
The striking employees said that they have have been requesting the Director to clear their salary, which is due since March this year.
However, no positive action has been taken up till date that compelled them to launch the indefinite ceasework stir, they said and added that the agitation would continue until their salary is cleared.
Decrying the lackadaisical attitude of the Director towards the matter, they employees deplored that the Director even threatened to put the employees who support the stir, under suspension.
Saying that the stir would cover all the district level employees as well, the striking employees said that the stir would paralyze immunization, distribution of medicine and in-service training throughout the State.
