Ukhrul, February 17 2011:
The Tangkhul Co-ordination Committee (TCC) has reiterated the declaration of the 3rd Naga People Convention held at Senapati (Tahamzam) on July 1, 2010 which stated that the Nagas would sever all political ties with the Government of Manipur and henceforth there shall be total political non-cooperation movement against it, reports our correspondent.
A press release issued by TCC secretary Worthing Horam further reiterated that the allegedly imposed ADC election was declared null and void.
It said that the District Councils would not be allowed to function in Naga areas under any circumstances.
The recent devolution of power to the Autonomous District Councils on February 8 by the Government of Manipur is not acceptable and whosoever is associated with the implementation of the ADC Act will be solely responsible for any eventuality.
The alleged victimization of an indivi-dual officer Ningam Chamroy CEO, ADC and Ukhrul DRDA Executive Director in the present imbroglio between the Government of Manipur and the Nagas is deeply regretted, it added.
