Dr Kishan and staff remembered on death anniversary

Floral tributes were paid to the departed souls of then Kasom Khullen sub-division SDO Dr Th Kishan and two sub-ordinate staff namely Y Token and A Rajen on the occasion of the second death anniversary of the trio today.
The anniversary programme organised by JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Dr Th Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen at Gandhi Ghat, Uripok was also attended by Manipur University Vice Chancellor Prof H Nandakumar Sarma, JAC chairman S Tikendrajit Singh and noted film maker Padmashree A Syam Sharma.
Apart from offering of floral tributes at the photo of the three, artistes of Roop Raag musical group also paid homage to the three with the rendition of patriotic numbers and release of poetry compilation of Dr S Shanti Kumar.
Presenting the key-note address, JAC convenor Y Kapor hailed the three brutally murder individuals as the most sincere and committed Government employees and described their unflinching attitude as supreme sacrifice for the under-privileged people of Kasom Khullen sub-division.
He also maintained that in his endeavour to sustain service to the people of the sub-divisional, Dr Kishan even defied diktats of higher authority consequently resulting in his death at the behest of some anti-social elements.
Kapor also lauded the spirit of Y Token and A Rajen on their preparedness to sacrifice for justice's sake rather than succumb to designs of adversary forces.
He also reiterated JAC's stand for continuous campaign till exemplary punishment is given to all those involved in the brutal killing of the three.
Mention may be made that on February 13, 2009, Dr Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen were abducted by unidentified persons from an Ukhrul district headquarters area and their recovered from near a rivulet in Taphou Kuki village under Senapati district on February 17 .
Some days later the NSCN (IM) claimed responsibility for the slaying of the three.
Mention may also be made the one Lt Col Ningsel Hopeson of the rebel group is currently detained in a Delhi jail in connection with the murder.
