MNCA and WSC sign MoU for development of mini-budget cricket stadium

In a positive development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Western Sporting Club (WSC), Ngairangbam, Imphal West, and the Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) today to develop and transform the Ngairangbam Awang Mamang Leikai Ground to a Mini-Budget Cricket Stadium.
The signing ceremony of the MoU was held at the office of WSC, Ngairangbam with the WSC president Khundrakpam Ibomcha Singh; vice president Chanam Sarat Singh; secretary, Khaidem Ingocha Meetei; treasurer Samananda representing the club.
The MNCA on the other hand, was represented by Singam Priyananda Singh, honorary secretary; Laithangbam Binoy Singh, vice-President; Leishangthem Ronel Singh, treasurer; and Konthoujam Bobin Singh, joint secretary.
The major thrust of the MoU is to lease out Ngairangbam Awang Mamang Leikai ground to the MNCA for a period of 50 years and to develop the ground into a world-class Mini-Budget Cricket Stadium with amenities like indoors, gymnasium, swimming pool, etc in years to come, said MNCA in a statement.
"We welcome this opportunity and would like to thank the people of Ngairangbam in supporting the proposal and signing of the MoU with MNCA.
We also would like to thank our MLA, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh in helping and guiding us in every way to develop our locality.
The development of this ground will bring ample job opportunities to our local people and should not miss this opportunity," the statement quoted WSC president Khundrakpam Ibomcha Singh as saying.
"This agreement will bring a new chapter in the history of the Association and look forward to developing the ground at the earliest possible time.
