One day discussion programme held

A one day discussion programme on the examination system of Manipur was organised by All Manipur Recognised Private Schools Welfare Association at Manipur State Guest House, Sanjenthong today.
Speaking at the event, the association's president Ph Landhoni Devi pointed out that the programme has been organised to discuss the various possible steps and methods for improving the evaluation, examination and question setting trends in Manipur.
The programme also aims to take up necessary steps to avoid errors in BOSEM and COHSEM examination's question papers and to correct errors during the evaluation process of the said exams' answer sheets.
The association's general secretary, L Joy Singh conveyed that the programme has been organised to prevent possible issues related to major examinations and to improve the education system of the State.
Various teachers, senior advocates and leaders of several students's organisation were present at the event.
DESAM president Moirangthem Angamba said that a new education system is critical in the modern society where there is cut throat competition.
He also stressed the importance of taking up appropriate steps to prevent unfair practices like using Whatsapp and Facebook and for the teachers to be honest and sincere in their work and also conveyed the need of a question monitoring body or official to prevent errors in question papers.
Retd Principal (Manipur College) and general secretary of Senior Citizens for Society, Manipur, Professor L Sadananda Singh, Senior Advocate (High Court of Manipur) Khaidem Mani, Retd Dean of Student Welfare, MU, Professor W Nabakumar Singh and Retd Deputy Secretary Academy, BOSEM, S Mangi Singh were also present at the event.
