MP assures to take JNIMS case to Centre

Inner MP Dr RK Ranjan has assured to do his best to pressure the Central Government and solve the lack of infrastructure and other issues plaguing JNIMS.
He made the statement during the 3rd foundation day of Dental College JNIMS which was organised at the auditorium of the institute today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr RK Ranjan said that the State Government need to submit all the problems being faced by the institute to the Ministry concerned and after that, he will do everything in his power to pressure the Central Government to address the issues.
He explained that under the Healthy Nation Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a hospital can be upgraded to an institute by the Health Ministry and added that under the said programme, he too can make sure that JNIMS is developed and free of its problems if JNIMS authority, through the State Government, submits a detailed report on the issues faced by the institute to the Ministry.
Development of JNIMS will have positive impact on the State and its people, he added.
The MP continued that JNIMS cannot be developed only by the doctors and this requires support from the people as well.
On the other hand, JNIMS Director Th Bhimo said that the lack of facilities at the hostel faced by the students of the Dental College, will be sorted out by December this year.
He then urged the BDS students and doctors to take part in the dental camps which are conducted in remote parts of the State throughout the year in a bid to close the gap between the people and the doctors.
Speaking at the programme, the Principal of the college Dr ND Hegre said that the college was established in 2017 and it currently has 9 full fledged Departments with a total of 141 BDS students.
The college also treats around 125 patients per day and the teachers of the college are all properly trained, he added.
He continued that the students of the college have been topping the 1st and 2nd year BDS examination conducted by MU.
As a part of the observation, topper of the 1st year examination Nongthombam Priyanka and topper of the 2nd year exam Chongan Rebeinei Aimol were felicitated.
JNIMS Dean (Academics) Professor Dr W Gyaneshore and Medical Superintendent Prof Dr N Jitendra were also present at the event.
