The 13th Felicitation Programme organised by the Khoirentak Khunou Youth Club at the Khoirentak Khunou Baptist Church was held today.
During the programme, 25 outstanding villagers including meritorious students were also honoured with simple gifts.
The felicitation programme was presided by ex-MP Kim Gangte.
NIPCO president Y Nabachandra also attended the programme as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Nabachandra remarked that the human resource available in the State was not lesser as compared to other States.
He called upon all the peoples of Manipur to unite together setting all misunderstanding and narrow mindsets so as to make the State self-sufficient in all respects.
In her speech, Kim Gangte emphasised on the necessity of a common platform for the women of Manipur to safeguard the integrity of Manipur and bring about a progressive society in the State.
Speaking as president of the function Amas KK conveyed deep resentment at the indifference of the State Government towards the Khoirentak area which has been associated with the history of Manipur since ages.
He appealed to the State Govt and other relevant authorities to address the plight of the villagers.
