Adult Learners' Week concludes

The week long literacy activities organized as part of the observances of Adult Literacy Week at Kangpokpi concluded in a gliterring function held at Community Hall Kangpokpi.
The Adult Literacy Week was organized by MAEC SRC, NEHU Shillong, to commemorate the International Literacy Day.
Haokholien Guite, circle MDC Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi graced the valedictory cum prizes distribution function as Chief Guest.
Apart from School principal, teaching staffs and students from diffirent schools within Kangpokpi, Senior and Junior Preraks, VTs, Learners, local women organization, Youth Union, patrons, various civil bodies leaders as well as Town Committee members attended the function.
Neichullou Misao from Model Centre Kangpokpi was declared overall individual champion in the literacy competition.
She begged first position in Poetry, Slogan and Recitation conpetition while second position in Debate competition respectively.
The Adult learners' week which was also held from Sept 13 at Khangabok High School, Khangabok came to an end yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The programme was organised by State Resource Centre, North Eastern Hills University, Shillong in collaboration with Lok Shikshya Samiti, Thoubal and Model Adult Education Centre, Khangabok Part-I .
The valedictory function of the programme was attended by Adhyaksha of Thoubal ZP/Chairperson of DLSS Thoubal, Kh Sonolata Devi and Additional Director of Adult Education/member secretary of SSA, Manipur, Abdus Salam as the chief guest and president respectively.
Essay writing competition, quiz, debate and slogan writing competitions were held during the programme.
