Imphal, August 05, 2012:
With the state government allegedly remaining silent over the abduction of Irungbam Irabanta by suspected cadres of NSCN-IM on May 27 last, the JAC Against the Abduction of I Irabanta Meitei by NSCN-IM has threatened to intensify the agitation from tomorrow.
Talking to mediapersons in this regard, T Ramananda, Co-convener of the JAC, recalled that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has already been informed about the abduction case of I Irabanta and the JAC gave an ultimatum of five days to the government to come out with a definite solution.
However, the state government has not said a word or come up with anything solid in this regard.
Ramananda further informed that the issue has also been discussed in the State Assembly following which a special team was reportedly assigned to investigate into the case.
But all these initiatives have proved useless.
So, the JAC has decided to launch intense agitation with the co-operation of various organizations of the state from tomorrow.
